Innovation

Innovation projects provide a suitable framework for the implementation and validation of new pedagogical proposals that meet the needs of a constantly evolving society. In this sense, it is essential to consider the advances in didactics, methodology, and technology that occur constantly. Innovation projects should propose planned changes in specific aspects, following a scientific research method that allows for the formulation and testing of hypotheses during their development.

Elderly population

During the 2022/2023 academic year, the students of the Teaching and Sociosport Animation and Fitness Conditioning cycles at CIP FP Lumbier IIP continue with the elderly project "Kirola egin eta osasunez ekin - Exercise and Benefit from Health". This project takes place every Monday (from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.) and Wednesday (from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.) at the civic center of Lumbier. CIP FP Lumbier IIP started this initiative four years ago, and each academic year the project gains greater prominence in the elderly population of the town and surrounding areas. The project focuses on physical capabilities to carry out daily activities, walks and hiking, memory games, board games, rural sports, etc., with the following objectives: to improve the physical condition of users, as well as to promote social relationships among participants, work on the cognitive and emotional aspects, etc. Currently, attendance is approximately 30-40 people.

In order to carry out the project, several institutions have collaborated with CIP FP Lumbier IIP: the health center, the City Council, the San Isidro Nursing Home and the Our Lady of the Assumption Senior Citizens Club.”

Active and Healthy Lifestyle

This project arises from the need to respond to three main needs:

  1. Provide the necessary resources for the space dedicated to the Fitness module in the multipurpose training room.

  2. Continue applying the theoretical and practical knowledge acquired in the module during the second year of the higher degree program and implement other knowledge acquired in different modules with real users.

  3. Respond to the demand from students for a space dedicated to fitness practice during their free time (recess).

Therefore, the second-year students of the Higher Degree in Physical Conditioning have organized the distribution of the fitness room according to the needs and available materials, created a pre-active assessment protocol for new users to adjust their personal objectives to each client's needs, and finally designed training routines tailored to their characteristics while providing sports advice.

This group of students opens the fitness room during two recess periods per week so that any student, teacher, or staff member of the institute can benefit from their services.
